About the Author

Selina Alba is an English Literature major graduate from Cal State University Northridge, with an extended study in Linguistics and Diversity, and a minor in Teaching English as a Second Language. Selina Alba enjoys analyzing literature from mythology to novels to comic books and film. Selina is currently working on becoming a high school english teacher. She has a passion for learning and helping students grow and find their voice through writing. One of her favorite books is a dystopian novel called 1984, by George Orwell. She especially likes dystopian novels because they take a look at how the structures that make up society influence people’s minds and behavior by tuning these structures upside down and taking them to an extreme. She also has a love for Mythology, which stems from video games, one of her favorite being God Of War which follows the story of a Kartos, a spartan warrior, who killed Ares the god of war and is forced to take his place as a result. Kratos is transported to norse mythology, as a way of him trying to escape his past. This game shows how mythology is still very relevant to the modern world.
